Our Beliefs
Put very simply, our beliefs are what the Bible teaches.
We believe the Bible is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and that it is all we need in religious matters. Therefore we have no need for and do not subscribe to any man-made creeds, catechisms, doctrines, synods, councils, or anything of the like. The Bible alone is sufficient; God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).
God
We know (and can prove) that God exists. Just as the Bible says, the Godhead consists of God the father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit. These are three different personalities who possess the same nature. God is spirit (John 4:24). The Lord our God is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). God is the One Who created the universe and all that is in it, including mankind (Genesis 1). He is worthy to receive glory and honor and power (Revelation 4:11).
Truth
Truth is objective and not subject to the whims or emotions of man. What God has revealed will remain true regardless of man’s reaction to it. We may agree or disagree with it, but we shall be judged by it (John 12:48). No one can be saved unless he possesses a love of the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10).
Salvation
Salvation comes to us by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). His love and mercy have made it available to us, but we must respond in a positive manner to His gracious offer. We must have faith in God (Hebrews 11:6) and in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 8:24). Sin causes us to be separated from God (Isaiah 59:1-2), and thus repenting of our sins is absolutely essential in order for us to be saved (Luke 13:3). God has ordained that all who believe and are willing to repent of their sins should be baptized in order to have them forgiven (Acts 2:37-28). Then, Christians must live faithfully unto death (Revelation 2:10), observing all that we are taught in the New Testament as best we can (Matthew 7:21-27).
Worship
Worship cannot be according to what man likes or prefers; it must be according to what God has commanded. He wants people to worship Him in spirit and in truth. While a fervent attitude is necessary, worship must also be according to truth. The worshipers of Baal appear to have been sincere (1 Kings 18), but they were not worshiping the right being. Those living in the northern kingdom of Israel were worshiping Jehovah, but not as He had commanded (1 Kings 12), and God took them into captivity as a result of it (2 Kings 17:21). Only worship that is according to the truth can honor God.
