What to Expect

You should expect a friendly, welcoming, group of people who care about your soul. The Lord’s Church worshiping in Winter Park is made up of diverse Christians who come from all walks of life. We know God does not have favorites in his Kingdom and we recognize all of our members are valuable to the Lord and his work. We hope your visit with us shows you our unity of brotherhood and commonality of purpose.

We want you to feel comfortable and welcomed as soon as you walk through the doors. We do not have any expectations of you nor do we solicit anything from you. When you visit our services, you can expect to find a simple worship service that adheres to the teachings of the New Testament. We assemble together every Lord’s Day, which is Sunday, to worship God.

Our Worship Service Includes

Praying

We are led in prayer by different men in our congregation (1 Tim 2:1-1).

Singing

The whole congregation joins together in praising God in song without the use of musical instruments. We use songbooks to aid us in singing. Many of our visitors choose to join us in singing, while others prefer simply to listen as we worship (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16).

Taking the Lord’s Supper

Every Sunday our members remember Christ’s death by eating unleavened bread and drinking grape juice. We sit quietly for a few minutes and reflect on our Savior’s willing sacrifice for our sins (Acts 20:7).

Preaching

We will enjoy a Bible lesson that lasts about 25 minutes. On most Sundays Gary Summers, presents a Bible lesson; although, occasionally a guest speaker will guide our thoughts.

Giving

Each member of this congregation contributes, as he has been prospered, on Sunday. This supports our work locally and abroad. We do not ask or expect our visitors to give anything in the offering (1 Corinthians 16:2).
